- Position: Patient Service Representative
- Location: Jacksonville, FL
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
THE POSITION:
We are looking for a full-time Patient Service Representative to join our customer-focused, supportive team. Our Customer Service department is a fast-paced, high-energy environment and you’ll find yourself challenged and required to use critical thinking every day. You will also be surrounded by a close-knit and supportive group who has the same dedication to serving medically fragile children and their families.
- Creates and confirms delivery tickets for Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
- Creates IV Delivery Tickets (as applicable)
- Assists internal and external customers and staff through the Customer Service help desk, phone calls, email or face to face encounters
- Serves as the Patient Services Coordinator of the Day (COD) (as applicable)
- Maintains database of physician orders
- Performs call-outs
- Processes returned mail
- Processes ‘to dos’
- Obtains patient supply orders via telephone, fax or helpdesk
- Obtains physician orders for products and services provided
- Obtains and assists with new patient referrals via telephone and completes the DME intake
- Updates patient account information on an ongoing basis, including patient change forms
- Addresses complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation
- Coordinates courier service with appropriate staff for deliveries as needed
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and PHS requirements regarding internal and external electronic medical record (EHR) access
- On-call duties/rotation may be required based on business need
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or 1–6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Durable medical equipment (DME) intake/ admissions experience preferred
- Exceptionally organized, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication and strong keyboard skills. A high level of initiative combined with a customer service mentality is also required.
- Experience in Brightree EHR a plus!
